Why we started

Current property tools still miss too much about real condition.

HomeSignal started from a practical observation: leading valuation tools move quickly, but they often fail to capture the current condition of the property itself.

The motivation

We think property condition should be measured, not guessed.

The direction is concrete: turn property condition into structured, evidence-backed feature scores that can be reviewed, explained, and repeated.

AVMs are useful because they make valuation faster and more scalable, but most do not meaningfully account for actual property condition. They can estimate around a property, yet still miss the visible details that change how that property should be understood.

Appraisals can capture condition when an appraiser is involved, but that review is often subjective. Two people can look at the same property and describe it differently, and the criteria behind those judgments are not always objective, consistent, or easy to explain.

HomeSignal is built around a more rigorous middle ground. We use structured feature scoring to capture current property condition in an objective, repeatable way while keeping the result tied to evidence. The goal is not to replace judgment. It is to give owners, lenders, investors, and valuation professionals a clearer foundation for it.

We are looking for specific feedback from people who know the workflows and the technical edges: what should be extracted, what must be reviewed, and where this intelligence would actually fit.
